Sublime x Punk Rock Museum x Dolby Live
Sublime at the Punk Rock Museum and Dolby Live, Plus Their New Single
Mid-August was one for the books for Las Vegas music fans. Sublime dropped in town ahead of their two-day residency at Dolby Live. I had the opportunity to capture both an intimate moment at the Punk Rock Museum and their dynamic residency on the Strip, all while the band rolled out their latest single, “Ensenada.”
Punk Rock Museum: Exhibit and Surprise Session
Sublime stopped by the Punk Rock Museum to check out the newly launched Sublime exhibit. Surrounded by rare photos, memorabilia, and fan-favorite artifacts, the members spent time connecting with fans, signing autographs, posing for pictures, and soaking in the nostalgia. Later, an impromptu jam session broke out in the Triple Down Dive Bar patio area. The vibe was raw, unfiltered, and exactly what you want from Sublime, with music shared up close.
Dolby Live: Punk Legends on One Stage
On Friday, August 15, and Saturday, August 16, Sublime took over Dolby Live for a packed residency that had the energy of a full-scale punk rock festival. Each night featured a standout lineup of supporting acts:

When Sublime hit the stage, the crowd lit up. Their mix of beloved classics and fresh energy made it clear this is not just nostalgia, it is Sublime pushing forward.
Sublime’s New Single: “Ensenada”
Just in time for the residency, Sublime released their newest single, “Ensenada,” on July 18, their first fully original track with Jakob Nowell on vocals. Inspired by classic Sublime vibes but with heartfelt lyrics about love, loss, and absurdism as a coping mechanism, the song showcases Jakob channeling that familiar sound in a deeply personal way. Produced by Jon Joseph (of BØRNS) and recorded in San Pedro, “Ensenada” sets the stage for the band’s upcoming studio album.
In the words of Jakob, the song was “inspired by old Sublime material” and designed as “a tribute to my uncles, Bud and Eric.” WRIF described it as “Creating genuine music that reflects your life and times… and then you look around and realize, wow, look at all the love we’ve found.”
Capturing the Weekend
I was stoked and honored to document the Punk Rock Museum visit, the impromptu patio performance at the Triple Down Dive Bar, and the full-scale residency at Dolby Live. From candid moments with fans to capturing the energy of the packed venue, the weekend was a perfect reminder of how alive and relevant Sublime still is. Jakob carries on his father’s spirit with the same energy, personality, and talent, while also bringing his own voice and character to the music, keeping the legacy alive in a truly personal way.
